New Report: Shared Automated Vehicles Are Closer Than They Appear

Shared automated vehicles (SAVs) will be something like driver-less Ubers, and they will be on our roads sooner than you think. They could eliminate the need for large parking lots and garages and connect people to jobs and services. They’ll cost everyone less money than owning their own cars, and could reduce traffic and commute times drastically. Researchers at the University of Minnesota looked at SAVs from diverse perspectives and in this new report, they advise policymakers in government and transit agencies to make the most of this potential game-changer.
Writing this NSF-funded report has been a super interesting writing project for me this year. Thanks to dream client Center for Transportation Studies University of Minnesota for inviting me to do it!
